It's a game about a last, slow, awkward dance. Beautiful and sad, and I think well worth playing with a squeaky old office chair.
I Will Sustain You
A downloadable game
I Will Sustain You is a physical game for two players about bodies, time and change—about a pilot and their mech as all systems go critical and they each must reckon with mortality. It requires an open space, an office chair, and physical movement.
This game is a conceptual and thematic hack of Our Radios Are Dying, by Aura Belle.
The sky is darkly endless, and cold air clutches at your bones. You have narrowly escaped destruction at the hands of enemies—at least for long enough to realise you will not make it home. Coolant and wires spill forth like guts, and joints scream with friction. Blood rushes, bringing vertigo. A flashing display shows a number ticking down. Everything feels like a struggle, and all that once was grace now is pain.
Pilot and machine, these last hours are yours to share. You will fight against the weight of two bodies in dysfunction and remember, however long ago it seems, what it once was like to dance.
